Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 image leak suggests Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S like bezel-less display
Xiaomi turned quite a few heads couple of years ago with the launch of its bezel-less Mi Mix smartphone. Roughly a year later it brought the next version, the Mi Mix 2. Now, leaks have pointed out towards the existence of the third-generation Mi Mix smartphone – Mi Mix 3. Although nothing has been confirmed about the device, one of the leaked images claims to show the unannounced smartphone.
What’s interesting this time is that the smartphone in the image is seen without any bezels on any of the sides, ditching the small chin that is there below the screen of Mi Mix and Mix 2. This also means the rumoured Mi Mix 3 may sport a higher screen to body ratio.
Looking closely at the image one can also decipher that none of the sides has enough room to incorporate a selfie camera. Reports indicate that Xiaomi could bring an Oppo and Vivo-like pop-up selfie camera tech onboard. If this is true, one can expect the Mi Mix 3 to be slightly thicker.
Although the image only shows the front side of the smartphone, there is nothing specific mentioned for the back panel. However, the design is said to resemble that of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, which is the updated version of Mi Mix 2 and was launched in March this year. Fans can also expect the ceramic back panel going by the history of the Mi Mix design.
In terms of specifications, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clubbed with 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage. It is still a debate if the smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo or Android P out of the box.
For what’s worth, the Mi Mix 2 was launched at Rs 35,999 in October last year. If the Mi Mix 3 comes to India, expect a higher price tag if not the same.
